However, NSB (the state railway company) runs the local train lines. T is best to use Oslo’s public transport system because parking spaces are limited so driving a car can be a liability.

If you expect to travel around Oslo for a full day then better purchase the Tourist Ticket which can be used on an unlimited basis within 24 hours. However, you can also opt for the Oslo card (available in 1, 2 and 3 day options) as it provides not only free unlimited travel but also free admissions and discounts to Oslo’s museum and other attractions.
